Northern SPARCs Incubator

New in 2026!! SPARC is thrilled to offer the Northern SPARCs Incubator!

Are you an emerging artist (any age over 18) looking to expand your network & business skills, and become part of an exciting new artist’s cohort?

Are you from the North, Northeast, Northwest, or Far North regions? (for this project we are using regions as defined by the OAC - https://www.arts.on.ca/oac/media/oac/OAC-Geographic-Regions-Maps_Cartes-des-regions-geographiques-du-CAO.pdf )

SPARC is looking for 12 artists to participate in this pilot project!

What to Expect:

  • 2 days of intensive meetings, classes and breakouts with industry leaders

  • The creation of an artist’s cohort that will meet (virtually) bi-monthly for 1 year

  • Travel subsidy of up to $200

  • Accommodation subsidy of up to $175 per night towards stay at official hotel, for up to 6 nights (to cover NSI & Symposium stay)

  • Lunch on NSI days

  • Opening Night Reception

  • Topics to include: fundraising & grant writing, branding & writing about yourself (bios, artist statements etc.), pitching, getting booked, contracts & contract negotiations

  • Master classes provided by industry leaders - class leaders to be picked based on cohort needs

  • A ticket to the 2026 SPARC Symposium (May 21-24, 2026 in Sudbury) - includes all workshops, meetings, panels, events, showcases and meals (meals on May 22 & 23) during the Symposium - value $250

Applications open: December 15, 2025

Deadline to apply: March 1, 2026

Notification date: April 1, 2026

Incubator dates: May 19-24, 2026 (May 19 & 20- NSI cohort only dates, May 21-24 - SPARC Symposium dates)
