Shri Abirami Jayaraman is a Bharatanatyam performing artist with over 20 years of classical training, based in Brampton, Ontario. Her choreographic work explores Bharatanatyam as a movement philosophy, weaving classical vocabulary with contemporary narrative and spoken-word.

Her latest solo piece under development, Maan: Maya & Kanha, draws a five-century line between Kanhopatra, a 15th-century poet-saint, and Maya Angelou, using dance and narration to explore silence, dignity, and reclamation. She continues to deepen her practice through both performance and teaching, carrying forward a lifelong devotion to the art form.
